Nightclubbiz.com encompasses a group of exceptionally progressive thinkers. Our perspective of social entertainment of the 21st century extends well beyond the scope of conventional nightclubs and well into more modern concepts, such as the rapidly progressing social networking mediums and other online developments, which change the way that people are able to connect in both the business and interpersonal arenas.
In November 07, Nightclubbiz.com committed considerable resources into the study of a promising new concept called the "Virtual World." Developed and operated by Linden Labs, the virtual world, which is know as Second Life encompasses a social structure all of its own and a rather complex one at that. Most activities are of a social nature, but in an amazingly, surreal type of way. While still in its infancy, we believe the virtual world platform to show much promise in dramatically changing the way in which people are able to network at the interpersonal level.
What exactly is a virtual world? Is it a game? Like a website? Do you click on things? Not a website and… Nothing remotely resembling a game of sorts.
When you embark upon the virtual world, it is truly… As if you've entered an alternate dimension of society. Inside, there are cities, buildings, lakes, seas, ships, shopping malls, nightclubs, and… A rapidly evolving social structure. Most, if not almost all activities are of a social nature. Unlike your experience with a website or other types of online interactive technologies, anticipating what may… Or may not occur in your virtual world life is not easy.
You may simply exist one of the many millions of residents touring, exploring, and taking in the scenes. You may decide to build your dream home… You may become one of many thousands of business operators, some of which now gross well over 100k a year. Or perhaps you're seeking something of a more socially engaging nature.
There are hundreds of various types of entertainment venues in Second Life From the latest dance sounds, to venues specializing in the 90's, 80,s, and even 70's tunes, and or a mix of all. You like blues? There are several blues clubs in Second Life that will not only wow you with authenticity of the visual theme, but the music is amazing. You want Irish? There are many Irish pubs in the virtual world --some of which a lot of fun.
How about Jazz? Jazz venues in Second Life are exceptionally popular and draw the most diverse international audiences by far. Looking for something slow and romantic? You'll find plenty of that here, and complete with environments, which appear as if they were designed by cupid himself. Just watch your heart. We mean this seriously :)
Or perhaps you're seeking something a little more intellectually stimulating… Try this: The unreasonable Effectiveness of Math in the Physical Sciences. Too heavy? Ok... How about engaging in a philosophical discussion of… Where does meaning come from and why? There are numerous groups that meet weekly to engage in a host of various topics, some of which can be quite mind numbing, and as we've personally discovered. The venues where these groups meet can be anything from a pavilion, to someone's exotic resort home with comfortable chairs and a remarkable ocean view, which… Really sets the tone.
The moderator of these discussions generally addresses the group in live voice, so you can engage either verbally, or by text chat, or… Just kickback and take it all in. There is no shortage of social and cultural diversity in Second Life. This is why most do not tire quickly of it and because the longer you spend in here, the more you discover.
How does the virtual world exist? The virtual world exists within a true 3D physics simulated environment. There are several thousand simulators, operating on 4,000 servers. In essence, this is how the virtual universe exists. No doubt, that's quite an infrastructure and it's growing faster than the data center space available for it. The sights, sounds, and graphics emulate a remarkably authentic experience, complete with the many nuances you'd encounter in real life.
In the virtual world, you exist as an Avatar. You can be whomever you please. You can appear as whomever you want and to amazing degrees. You can own homes, businesses, islands, and numerous other assets. It is noteworthy to mention that 1-billion U.S. dollars in total user-to-user transactions occurred in 2009, with several hundred million of those transactions being invested into clothing, skins, jewelry, and numerous other apparel based items. There are some very attractive Avatars in the virtual world and their ability to clone the look, feel, and posture of a real human being is beyond remarkable.
In Second Life you are a termed a resident of the virtual world and no big surprise… Residents like meeting other residents. Some are there for social networking, while some for business, and still others looking to meet others of similar interests. The interpersonal relationship arena is perhaps the most interesting. These types of dialogues are quite popular in the virtual world. Some are merely friendship based, while others progress into steady relationships. There are thousands of 'virtual world marriages', many of which in existence for several years and… An increasing many, which have resulted in real life marriages.
Romance is the virtual world is alive, well, and while many are reluctant to admit it… In exceptionally high demand. More interestingly, these types of social interactions can be very hard to resist sometimes. It's not like a chat room or online dating website… You can become 'fully immersed' in a social or romantic encounter very quickly in the virtual world. Don't confuse this with anything necessarily sexual. In this world, it is a true "meeting of the minds", which is further stimulated by environments, music, and other types of nuances that enhance the depth of social dialogue.
You want a class case example? It could be a Monday or Friday night. You drop into your favorite entertainment venue to relax, check out the music, and observe the crowd. The next thing you know, someone has contacted you… An interesting dialogue spawns… Now you're engaged in an enchanting slow dance… The dialogue intensifies… The hours fly by… The next thing you know… You leave the club... Both of you end up traveling to some remote mountaintop under the stars, where there's more privacy and… The music is to die for
You share so much in common… Conversation is following… And you are developing a real attraction for each other. You need to get to bed, but you can't…. Just one more slow jam! This is about the point you find yourself fully immersed in what is… A fantasy? A dream? Or something of a truly surreal nature? It might be a little of all… Better figure it out soon, as it's now 3:00 AM and you need to be up by 7:00.
You'll be asking yourself… Can this really be? How can is it possible that I am actually becoming attracted to a person in a fictional world? I told myself this would NEVER happen to me! Famous last words… But don't worry… You'll become accustomed to it after it occurs a few times. Keep in mind that the environment itself is fictional, however the people encompassing it are certainly not. Heartbreaks in this universe can be painful and as many will admit, more so than real life in a number of cases. Buyer beware…
What is Nightclubbiz.com doing in the virtual world? Our purpose here is largely research of this new medium, while we ponder the possibilities of its real potential. Our main focus has been the social entertainment sector of the virtual world, as we believe this may very well be key to its survival. Social interaction must occur at some reasonable level in the virtual world, or the masses can become somewhat board.
We're considering the possibility of several concepts evolving around social entertainment and have participated in a management consultant capacity in several of the busiest venues here. While largely unacknowledged, there is a sizable amount of money to be made in virtual world entertainment concepts and Nightclubbiz.com believes it may hold the keys to taking it to that next level.
What other social networking types of arenas is Nightclubbiz.com interested in? One particular industry, which has been of great interest to us for a long time is the antiquated online dating concept. As ailing and riddled in PR disasters as it may be… This 1.2 billion dollar industry has officially become accepted as a 'mainstream' means of meeting people of similar interests and despite the methods and ethics a number of these services utilize, which have put them in the spotlight in more ways than one. This may also be why they capture little more than 1.5% of the broader based singles arena.
If only another, more meaningful option existed. It does not… Yet. And very likely why this out-of-date concept is still in existence. It exists by default… And indeed an industry, which shall remain of keen interest to us as we proceed with these far superior technologies.
Investment opportunity anyone? We view this as a 'ground floor' opportunity. We have a strong vision, a solid premise, and an extensive background in social entertainment concepts. Anyone considering an investment in the social networking technology sector may want to contact us first. With the 'right' investment participants, we're confident we could roll out what could be, the most significant development in social networking mediums yet.
The future belongs to those who see it coming…
